IMPACT North West Engagement Meeting

What’s the meeting about?

The IMPACT North West Engagement Meetings give us a chance to discuss updates to the IMPACT North West Survey, share learnings and hear feedback from participating organisations.

What’s IMPACT North West?

The IMPACT North West survey, now in its third year, explores the impact of arts, culture and heritage on audiences in Derry, Strabane and Donegal.

It’s one of the few arts, culture and heritage surveys taking place a/cross-border and b/over multiple years. This give us unique insights into audiences in the North West, and helps participating organisations plan for what’s to come.

Arts and heritage organisations from across Derry, Strabane and Donegal. We’ve received over 4000 responses from across 40 organisations.

Is the venue accessible?

Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin's facilities and service provision is designed to be accessible for all. The venue is fully accessible with a range of free mobility, parking and general visitor facilities.

    Centre Access

    There is level access on approach to the Centre, with a level threshold at the automatic doors. There is immediate level access to the reception and box office.

    Internal Access

    There is a lowered section at Box Office reception and at the Cafeteria. A lift provides access to all public levels of the Centre.

    An Croí theatre and concert hall is accessible on the ground floor of the centre. An Crói is a spectacular multi-purpose, flexible space. The room’s wooden sprung floor and wall panels create a warm and elegant decor. It is widely recognised as Derry and the North West’s premier music and arts venue, and is also frequently used to host performances from a range of genres.

    Seating in An Croí is flexible and can accommodate wheelchair access if required.

    Classrooms and meeting rooms are located on the upper floors and are all accessible by lift.

    Toilets

    Accessible gender neutral toilets are provided on the ground floor and the 2nd floor. These are fitted with an emergency call system.

    Hearing Impairment

    There is an induction loop hearing system available at Box Office and in An Croí . Hearing aids should be set to the “T” position. Visible alarms will display during emergencies. The centre has allocated staff who have completed a tailored course in ISL and BSL to provide basis support for customers.

    Cafe/ bar

    Our cafe and bar chairs do not have arm rests allowing for easy transfer from wheelchairs. Our cafe offers a variety of food options including vegetarian and gluten-free.

    Baby changing & nursing

    Baby changing facilities are available on the ground floor. Nursing mothers are welcome to nurse in the Café & all front-of-house areas.

    Special effects / extreme noise / strobe lighting

    These effects can be used during performances and will be signed on entrance to An Croí. Please ask if you require further information.
