We are looking for our next Chairperson. If you are excited by the idea of helping thrive create its next phase of development and ensure it continues to deliver its essential role in the cultural life of Northern Ireland then maybe it could be you.
About the role
The Chairperson has a vital strategic role to play in realising the vision and purpose of the organisation. The Chairperson ensures that the organisation complies with the requirements of the law and good practice in third sector governance, including ensuring that the Board functions effectively; that there is full participation at meetings; all relevant matters are discussed; and that effective decisions are made and carried out. Beyond these mandatory deliverables, there are specific areas that thrive needs from its next Chair:
- Leadership and strategic direction to achieve sustainability
- Confidence in using financial data to inform strategic direction and decisions
- Lead continuous board development and make sure the board is accessible and inclusive
- Provide support and supervision
- Represent thrive
This is a voluntary role. The Chair's role is 3 years in the first instance, with the option to renew for a further 3 years.
We are keen to have a more diverse and inclusive Board and particularly welcome applications from people from the d/Deaf and disabled community, ethnic minorities and the LGBTQ+ community.
