Ensuring Your Venues and Events Are Open to All

This disability access guide gives really practical advice and tips on making your venues and events accessible for disabled artists and audiences.

It includes statistics on the numbers of people in Scotland who are disabled and their likelihood of attending cultural events. As you might imagine, the figures don't make for great reading.

The guide starts by breaking down the basics for improving accessibility, things like planning, research, budgeting, catering, audio description and relaxed performances. It then gives a helpful list of language to try and language to avoid when talking to disabled audiences.

Lastly, the guide provides a comprehensive checklist to make sure you're thinking about accessibility across all areas of your venue or event.
