Northern Ireland in 100 Stories: Resources
In July 2022, we began work on a fascinating project: Northern Ireland in 100 Stories. For the past year, we met with a total of 120 people from across all 11 council areas in Northern Ireland to find out what arts and culture means to their lives. As we near the end of the project, we wanted to gather in one place all the resources that came from it.
We have created a booklet, which features the stories of ten contributors from the project.

Quotes
As part of this project, we gathered a number of quotes from the people we spoke to. Because who could tell us how and why the arts matter better than the people who regularly take part and attend arts and culture? Not only does this list of quotes provide an authentic overview of the impact of arts and culture in Northern Ireland but they can also be used (for free!) for future funding applications.
We organised each quote by theme and by council area. There are two ways you can browse through them:
- Tableau, the visual analytics platform, where you can select council areas on a map and pick the themes or words you’d like to explore.
- If playing with a map isn't your thing, you can download our Excel spreadsheet instead: Thrive NI in 100 Stories quotes Excel
If you are using some of these quotes in your funding applications, you can add the following credit:
