IMPACT Theatre Report

Our IMPACT survey is a post-visit audience survey that evidences the impact of attending arts and culture on audiences in Northern Ireland. Thanks to IMPACT, we're able to share for the first time how artform affects audience motivations, behaviours and demographics.

Theatre Audiences

  • Theatre audiences were more likely to be aged 60+
  • Theatre had the lowest percent of new audiences (6%)
  • Print is an important channel, with theatre audiences more than three times as likely to have heard about the event through a printed brochure or poster/flyer
  • These audiences were more likely to agree that they are proud of our arts/culture scene in NI (84% vs. 82% of the IMPACT total) and more likely to say they want to support the arts/culture sector more (92% vs. 89% of the total).
