Our IMPACT survey is a post-visit audience survey that evidences the impact of attending arts and culture on audiences in Northern Ireland. Thanks to IMPACT, we’re able to share for the first time how artform affects audience motivations, behaviours and demographics.

Visual Arts Audiences

  • Visuals arts audiences are the most frequently engaged, with 61% engaging 6+ times a year vs. 40% of the IMPACT total
  • Visual arts attracts the highest percent of LGBTQI+ audiences (15% vs. 6% of the IMPACT total)
  • Visual arts audiences are more than three times as likely to attend solo (36% vs. 10% of the IMPACT total), which suggests that people feel comfortable coming in on their own.
  • Visual arts audiences were more likely to feel relaxed/inspired after their visit, along with reaping the intellectual benefits of going – they felt more knowledgeable, challenged, transported and empowered.

You can download the IMPACT Visual Arts Report for the full story.
